St. Croix, USVI – Today, Congresswoman Stacey E. Plaskett and Senate President Milton E. Potter officially entered the race for Governor and Lieutenant Governor of the United States Virgin Islands, submitting their nomination papers as the Democratic ticket and launching a campaign centered on delivering tangible results for Virgin Islands families.

The Plaskett-Potter ticket will campaign under the banner “People Powered, Ready to Deliver,” a message that reflects both their commitment to community-driven governance and their proven track record of securing resources and driving progress for the territory.

“After months of listening to families, business owners, students, and community leaders across all three islands, Milton and I are ready to put our experience to work for the people of the Virgin Islands,” said Congresswoman Stacey E. Plaskett. “This campaign is about results, not rhetoric. It’s about bringing federal resources home, creating economic opportunity, strengthening our infrastructure, and ensuring every Virgin Islander has access to quality healthcare, education, and the chance to build a good life here at home. We look forward to engaging with voters across the territory and, ultimately, we look forward to what the people decide in this race. This is their choice, their voice, and their future.”

Senate President Milton E. Potter brings decades of legislative experience and deep knowledge of local governance to the ticket, complementing Congresswoman Plaskett’s federal relationships and record of delivering for the territory in Washington, D.C.

“The Virgin Islands needs leadership that understands both our local challenges and how to navigate the federal systems that impact our daily lives,” said Senate President Potter. “Stacey and I have worked together for years to advance the interests of our people, and we’re ready to take that partnership to the next level. Together, we will build a Virgin Islands that works for everyone—where our young people can find careers without leaving home, where our infrastructure is resilient and modern, and where government is accountable, efficient, and responsive to the people it serves.”

The campaign will be “People Powered” in every sense—driven by community input, supported by grassroots volunteers, and accountable to the voices of everyday Virgin Islanders. In the coming weeks and months, Congresswoman Plaskett and Senate President Potter will hold town halls, community meetings, and listening sessions across St. Croix, St. Thomas, and St. John to hear directly from residents about their priorities and concerns.

“This is not about us, it’s about the people of the Virgin Islands and the future we can build together,” Plaskett continued. “We’re asking for your support, your ideas, and your vote. Together, we are ready to deliver the leadership our territory deserves.”
